Beef Lasagna

Dulu masa student, ada pernah buat sekali lasagna, my housemate lah yang buat..Aku setakat membantu sajork..but it turns out great anyway. Lepas tu, takde pernah buat lagi sebab nan ado masa. Tetiba sang suami teringin nak makan lasagna, jadi aku pon search la resepi..maka aku combine resepi dari sini dan dari sini. Fuhhh mantop tuh rasanya.

             Mari kita kongsi resepi di sini, senang untuk rujukan di masa akan datang.Ada 3 steps, making the cheese sauce, cooking the beef and layering the lasagna. Firstly, we make the cheese sauce okay;

Cheese Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:

Cheddar cheese(Kraft) -250g grated
600ml fresh milk
250ml water
3 tbsp butter
4 tbsp plain flour
a bit of black pepper powder

Methods:

Heat wok(best if its a non-stick wok).
Using a medium small heat, add in butter.
When butter has melt, add in flour and whisk till incorporated with the butter.
Keep on stirring so as not to make the flour burnt.
Add in half of the fresh milk and keep on stirring with the whisker so as not to get a lumpy mixture.
Add in the balance milk and water and keep on stirring so as the flour do not stick to the base of wok and get burnt.
When the sauce has boiled, add in the cheddar cheese and stir well.
Add in black pepper and let it boil till cooked.
Turn off heat and cheese sauce is ready.

Beef  Sauce
Ingredients:

1 large onion, sliced
About 500g shredded mozzarella cheese
1 small bottle of pasta sauce, 400g
pasta sheets* (I use about 9 sheets for a 3 layered lasagna) , choose the type that don’t require pre cooking
600g minced beef
1/2 to 1 cup red cooking wine ~ substitute dengan grape juice
1 tbsp olive/vegetable oil
5 bay leaves (optional)
a bit of grated parmesan cheese/shredded ricotta cheese (optional)

Methods:

Heat some oil in a saucepan or wok, and saute the sliced onions till they are translucent.
Fry the minced beef for a while,
Add the pasta sauce, bay leaves and red cooking wine/grape juice
Mix evenly, cook till beef is browned, bring to a simmer and dry consistency, season with salt & pepper if you like and off the flame.

Layering Lasagna

Preheat oven to 350F.
Pour 1/2 cup of the beef sauce into a lightly greased baking dish.
Layers of lasagna.
Pour cheese sauce accordingly.
Repeat the layers till the edge of the baking dish.
End the layers with cheese sauce and sprinkle the mozarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes or until cooked through (test if cooked by pricking with a fork).
Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

It's yummy!!
